Bringing TB diagnosis closer to the people who need it most.

Stop TB Partnership Nigeria hosted the inception meeting for the RADxAR-TB Near-Point-of-Care (nPOC) Project with support from Aurum Institute NPC— bringing together close to 25 representatives from the National TB, Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer Control Programme (NTBLCP), AFKMED, Pluslife and other partners at Denis Hotel, Abuja, on 13–14 August 2026.

Supported by the Aurum Institute NPC with funding from the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), the project will run for 20 months (May 2026 – December 2027) with the goal of helping Nigeria prepare for and scale up near-point-of-care molecular TB diagnostics using the Pluslife platform.

Why it matters: too many Nigerians still face long distances to testing sites, specimen transport delays, laboratory congestion and slow results — all of which delay diagnosis and treatment. nPOC technology brings rapid, accurate molecular testing directly to primary health centres, community outreach points, correctional facilities, IDP settings and other high-risk locations.

Over two days, the team aligned on: The project's goals, expected results and donor expectations and deployment plan covering 250 facilities across 200 LGAs in 31 states.

Immediate next steps — from device delivery and Training of Trainers to facility readiness and rollout The meeting closed with a clear, shared action plan and a strong sense of collective purpose.

We're proud to be part of a partnership working to decentralise TB diagnosis, close case-finding gaps and bring Nigeria closer to ending TB.

More updates as implementation kicks off.
